The municipality of Bacnotan in La Union is now set to celebrate its 9th DIRO Festival 2017 scheduled on May 1 to 8.
Bacnotan Mayor Francisco Angelito L. Fontanilla said that this years festivity will be a fun-packed event coupled with a variety of activities that involves all his town folks of all ages.
Fontanilla said diro which is an Ilokano term for honey, symbolizes unity and oneness as he considers all his constituents as partners for progress.
This was also emphasized with the festival theme Nasamsamay ti Panagrang-ay No Adda Sam-it ken Irut iti Panagdadanggay (Progress is more possible when coupled with the sweetness of unity and cooperation).
