Several African political leaders have had their axioms and aphorisms published as part of their efforts to preserve the legacies of their leadership. For example, those of William V. S. Tubman, Liberia's late president, were published as Aphorisms of W. V. S. Tubman, and those of Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's late president, were styled as Axioms of Kwame Nkrumah. Then, in 2013, selected political and other sayings of K. A. Busia, the late prime minister of Ghana's second republic (1969-1972), were compiled and published as Axioms of K. A. Busia.
Compiled, edited, and introduced by Nana A. K. Anane-Agyei, a historian and alumnus of the University of Ghana, this book "covers a wide spectrum of issues that became the preoccupation of Professor Kofi Abrefa Busia, one of Ghana's most decorated historic figures" (p. vi).
