Abstract [Objectives] This study was conducted to compare agrimophol contentsin Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb. at different harvest time, so as to select its best harvest time. Methods High performance liquid chromatography was used for the determination of agrimophol in A. pilosa Ledeb. at different harvest time in Luzhou. Results] The content of agrimophol could be detected by HPLC. Agrimophol had good linearity in 0.01 -0.1 mg/ml (r=0.9999), the average recovery was 101.5% , and RSO was I. 10%. The content of agrimophol in A. pilosa Ledeb. in Luzhou was 0.010 8% in June, and 0.013 1% in July, much higher than any other months. [ Conclusions] This experiment established a method for detecting the content of agrimophol by HPLC, which is simple, with high precision, high accuracy, good repeatability atrd recovery. The reasonable harvest tinte of A. pilosa Ledeb. irr Luzhou is June arrd July.

Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb. is also known as Longyacao, Langvacao, Tuolicao, Mabiancao and Shidachuan. It was firstly recorded in " Tujingbencao" as dry aboveground part of rosaceous plant A. pilosa I ¿-deb. A. pilosa is neutral in nature, bitter in taste, and has the effects of astringing to stop bleeding, and preventing malaria. It is clinically used for treating various hemorrhages such as hemoptysis, hematemesis, metrorrhagia and metrostaxis, bloody flux, malaria, carbuncle, pruritus vulvae, and internal lesion caused by overexertion 1 . Modern medicine has proven that agrimophol is one of main effective components in A. pilosa, which could block normal metabolism of parasites, i. e. , inhibit glycogenolysis of parasites, and thereby inhibiting anaerobic metabolism and aerobic metabolism. Agrimophol could be used for killing parasites, and also coidd be used for treating Trichomonas vaginalis without causing malformation of fetus .

A. pilosa is widely distributed in most areas in China, mainly in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Hubei ' . According to investigation, there is abundant A. pilosa resource in Luzhou, and <4. pilosa has simple propagation method, easy cultivation management, easy harvest, extensive use and higher economic benefit.
