SCOTT SIMON, host:
A weekly television show on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis explores sex and sexuality with a particularly discriminating trio. Host and producer Alison Small turns for advice to three men of God, a rabbi, a Catholic priest and an Episcopal priest. No, this is not the beginning of a joke. The three clergy all work with the students of Washington University. Now "Missionary Positions" debuted last fall and every Tuesday night at 11, students flock to the show's small studio to be a part of the live audience. One recent show was devoted to fantasies. A student named Beth.
(SOUNDBITE FROM "MISSIONARY POSITIONS")
BETH: I've lately been having fantasies about a woman. I really don't know how to take it. It's not reoccurring that often, but it's weird because she actually lives next door to me. And she's my RA.
Unidentified Man: OK.
BEV: And I don't know what to do. I don't know why, and I don't know how to deal with it.
SIMON: What to do? What to do? The distinguished panel of "Missionary Positions" joins us now from the studios of our member station KWMU in St. Louis. Firstly, Rabbi Hyim Shafner. Rabbi, thanks for being with us.
Rabbi HYIM SHAFNER: Thanks.
SIMON: Roman Catholic Father Gary Braun. Father, thank you for being with us.
Father GARY BRAUN: Greetings.
SIMON: And Episcopal priest, Father Mike Kinman. Father, thank you for being with us.
Father MIKE KINMAN: Hi. Thank you.
SIMON: And host, producer and I guess a junior at Washington University, Alison Small.
Ms. ALISON SMALL: Thanks. I'm a sophomore actually, but...
SIMON: Sophomore, all right.
Ms. SMALL: Yeah.
SIMON: Well, you're a junior after this show, OK?
Ms. SMALL: Yes.
SIMON: Thanks very much. It's very good to have all of you with us. Now Beth asked a good question. How does she handle a fantasy about someone that might not be returned? And it's particularly a complication that it's resident associate in the dorm. What was the advice that you gave? Rabbi Shafner?
Rabbi SHAFNER: I think that we talked a little bit about separating fantasy from reality, talked to her a little bit about how it affected her actual relationship with her RA.
