TELECOMWORLDWIRE-14 February 2001-Alcatel adds Linux support to Speed Touch USB modem (C)1994-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http:// www.m2.com Alcatel has introduced a Linux driver for its Alcatel Speed Touch USB modem. Designed to deliver broadband access to users of the Linux operating system, the new driver will be released in open source code in March via Alcatel's web site at http:// www.alcateldsl.com. The firmware will be available in binary format. The Alcatel Speed Touch USB modem also supports a range of other operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 98/98E/2000/ Millennium and Mac OS 8.6/9.0.
