TELECOMWORLDWIRE-6 July 2001-REVIEW:Microsoft FrontPage -- Inside Out (C)1994-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com Microsoft FrontPage -- Inside Out is the complete reference guide to everything that it is possible to do in FrontPage 2002. It features not only the functions available but also time saving hints and tips, along with an easy to follow logical layout. First time users may at first find this book a bit too in depth but I have no doubt that after a while they will soon get into the flow of things. For the advanced user of previous FrontPage versions this book should be no problem and they should find themselves skipping the occasional chapter or two which cover topics they already know. The book takes the form of a question and answer session in that potential questions that users may need to ask are used as the headers to the sections and a comprehensive answer is posted below. Even if you have mastered earlier versions of FrontPage then a quick read of this book is still worthwhile as there are many new functions and features which can only benefit the user. It would also be very worthwhile if it was simply used as a reference book as the sheer size of the 2002 version of FrontPage will have even the most seasoned professional reaching for a better or faster way to do something. There is no doubting the quality of the layout of this book. Each chapter is marked down the side of the book with easily referenced page edge shading while the text itself is kept to manageable chunks divided by diagrams, drawings and screen shots. The index and contents listings for this 1200 page tome are obviously large but fortunately they are easy to use and are surprisingly user friendly considering their size! The book also comes with a free CD featuring an HTML interface, Microsoft add-ins, third party utilities, the website example used in the book, macros, source code, databases, custom components, a full electronic version of the book, extra content, sample chapters from other Office books, web links and demos. CONCLUSION:This is a very comprehensive and detailed book. Any user of FrontPage 2002 should seriously consider buying this book as a major boost to their web site design learning curve.
