Abstract
Corporate governance (C.G) and Employee engagement (E.E) are important to achieve corporate excellence. By following this concept the present study is aimed to analyze these phenomenons through empirical approach. The study concentrates on service industry by covering banking and insurance companies as target companies. The study also explores how CG and EE work for corporate excellence in today s competitive world. The study further analyzes what parameters work to increase employee engagement and how employee engagement work for corporate excellence. For this, the study further identifies various parameters ensuring corporate excellence and get respondents' opinion on firm s excellence at various fronts. It also establishes the relationship among corporate governance, employee engagement and corporate excellence.

Introduction
The 21st century acknowledged economic volatility, growing regulation and social expectations from businesses. This has led businesses to understand market scenario, prioritize business responsibilities, and learn practices to be followed to make company fit in today's demanding market. Harvard Business School- article (2017) (Please see references) described corporate governance is an attempt to enhance business excellence through improving transparency, ensure compliances, strengthening working relationships, making social investments and arranging resources to build society. Continuing to this thought, Leo Sun (2016) added that CG is a technique of governing business like a sovereign state. It is about re-instating own policies & laws intended to show accountability, transparency and ethical approach in doing business. Bob Tricker (2015) in his book on 'Corporate Governance' highlighted the reasons of being social and relevance of CG in today's world to achieve corporate excellence. The author pointed out that to meet regulatory obligation, social obligation, ethical obligation and philanthropic obligation good corporate governance is a key to achieve corporate excellence in today's competitive world.
Employee Engagement and Corporate Excellence:
Employee engagement is a thrust area in today's business world. HR managers across the globe are finding ways to reach employees' sentiments, emotions and inspiration to boost up their commitment towards their job and the company at large. Schaufeli (2004) defined employee engagement "as a positive, fulfilling, work-related state of mind that is characterized by vigor, dedication and absorption".
