UNEMPLOYMENT is expected to rise until 2018 with many graduates being affected.
This was according to Professor Carel van Aardt, a researcher at the Bureau of Market Research, (BMR) based at the University of South Africa (Unisa).
His assessment follows Statistics SA's Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) which showed yet another increase in the unemployment rate which rose to 27.7% from 26.5% in the previous quarter.
The increase marked the highest unemployment rate in 14 years.
The Quarterly Labour Force Survey is a household-based labour sample survey conducted quarterly.
It collects data on the labour market's activities of individuals aged 15 and above.
