Glucosamine sulfate for arthritis Part of our 'joint' effort against pain.
Insufficient levels of glucosamine in the body have been suggested to be the major factor leading to osteoarthritis, which is characterized by joint degeneration and loss of cartilage, that shockabsorbing gel-like material between joints. Glucosamine sulfate, available in supplement form, has been shown to stimulate the manufacture of cartilage substances necessary for proper joint function. In addition, glucosamine sulfate has been shown to stimulate joint repair. Numerous studies have shown that glucosamine sulfate is a safe and effective natural alternative to aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., ibuprofen).
