Machaut's Voir Dit, one of his last poetic compositions, was first published by Paulin Paris in 1875. The deficiencies of Paris's edition, often noted, include textual emendations and omissions unacknowledged by the editor and unsupported by manuscript evidence, as well as errors in line-numbering.
