Abstract
Jack Gifford, president, CEO, and founder of Maxim Integrated Products Inc., does not suffer fools gladly. A competitive, demanding executive, who has been in the semiconductor business longer than many of his employees have been alive, he has been known to berate Wall Street analysts during quarterly earnings conference calls for not having done their homework. He has thrown out investment bankers who arrived for meetings without a suit and tie. And he seldom, if ever, grants interviews to the press.
