Abstract

Sybase Inc. is preparing the next release of its high-end SQL Server database, code-named System 11. Sybase is trying to include more features into System 11's core database engine so that SQL Server will support a broader range of applications without requiring expensive add-on components. Key features of System 11 include: 1. parallelization of queries, 2. enhanced support for data warehousing, and 3. capability to handle very large databases.
