THIS IS A BIG WEEK and not just because April 7 is my 51 st birthday.
On Monday, Elizabeth Dole and I will be speaking at a Bellcore research meeting. Bellcore (http://www.bellcore .com) was recently spun off by the regional Bell operating companies. In my speech, I will suggest that Bellcore seek an expanded role in managing the operations of our bogging and collapsing Internet. I'll get back to you if that suggestion goes anywhere.
On Tuesday and Wednesday I will attending and on Thursday I will deliver the keynote speech at the Sixth International World Wide Web Conference, in Santa Clara, Calif. I'll cap that keynote by making the case that I should not have to eat my first Internet collapse column of Dec. 4,1995.
