LIKE AN INCREASING number of newspaper owners, Knight-Ridder wants to be in television.
But, with the folding of their Philadelphia news show, "Inquirer News Tonight; they learned the going can be rough.
Using one of their strongest resources - the Philadelphia Inquirer -- Knight-Ridder cut a deal with local television station WPHL to air the news program which was produced by KR Video, a subsidiary of Knight-Ridder.
