IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING new or additional software to protect your systems from viral hobgoblins, you may want to look at PC-cillin II, the latest release of anti-virus software from TouchStone Software. PC-cillin, developed with Trend Micro, has the usual features to protect systems from viruses, detect viral-like activity, and, of course, scan for viruses based on their definition strings. Even though it is slightly more accurate than Symantec's Norton AntiVirus 2.0, I wouldn't switch to using it exclusively.
PC-cillin does take a bit of getting used to. There is one interface for scanning, cleaning, and retrieving information about viruses, and another -- called the"smart monitor"full of gauges and buttons for adjusting settings and connecting to the Internet for support and updates. The...
