BIG DEALS
D.R. Horton instantly became the largest home builder in the Chicago market with its purchase of Cambridge Homes in late December. The move capped a busy twelve months for D.R. Horton, during which the builder merged with Continental Homes and acquired home building companies based in Louisville, Ky.; Portland, Ore.; and Virginia. D.R. Horton's sales this year will exceed 17,000 homes and may come close to 18,000, according to president Rick Beckwitt.
