* WINE REVIEW - GOOD WINE STORIES
There's a saying in retail that a good story will sell a wine. Here are two reds with special stories.
The first comes from the Barossa's red baron, Grant Burge. It is a Shiraz of finesse that is suitably rich but isn't the brute you'd expect from this maker. Burge crafted it for a particular purpose and that, perhaps, explains the departure from house style.
It's the Grant Burge Ethel Nancy Shiraz 2005 and the wine is a celebration of the life of his mother. Ethel Nancy Burge passed away, aged 85, in 2005 and this is a son's tribute. Burge tells various tales of his mother's involvement in the life of the Barossa Valley and one is that of the family, including mum, planting the paddocks that are now their treasured Cameron Vale vineyard.
The second wine, the Five Virtues Shiraz 2005, is a one-off, too. It was created by five winemaking stars of Western Australia's Great Southern region and, complete with...
