News and Views: In Racial Diversity, Emory University Stands Tall
This past semester student protests erupted on the campus of Emory University in Atlanta over the fact that the Kappa Alpha fraternity routinely flew the Confederate Stars and Bars battle flag at its fraternity house. As a result of student demonstrations and pressures from the administration, the fraternity agreed to remove the flag.
Later a photograph in the fraternity's yearbook displayed a white student in blackface at a fraternity social event. This prompted the formation of a group called Students for a United Emory. The group took out a...
