Abstract

The need to establish international guidelines that outline the necessary competencies for becoming a career educational and vocational counselor is addressed. It is hoped that using a common framework across countries will promote a common way of viewing career-life development and a common way of describing the types of competencies needed to deliver quality educational and vocational guidance services.
