LÍMITES VISUALES ENTRE NORMATIVIDAD Y DIVERSIDAD: UNA PANORÁMICA DE REPRESENTACIONES FÍLMICAS DE ANDROGINIA, DISFRAZ SEXUAL, TRANS E INTERSEXUALIDAD EN OCCIDENTE

Abstract

En las últimas décadas han ido emergiendo estudios específicamente cinematográficos sobre representaciones de transiciones y redefiniciones de género a través del vestido, la reconstitución corporal y posturas discordantes frente a las normas imperantes. Este artículo se propone recorrer sus principales aportaciones -y las de sus referentes en las artes escénicas- con un doble objetivo. Por un lado, trazar un marco teórico con las relecturas fílmicas de terminologías, mecanismos narrativos y modelos discursivos de la tradición cultural, testimonial y activista. Por otro, señalar la polisemia de estas representaciones según distintas agendas políticas de género y sexualidad.

The last few decades bore witness to the emergence in film studies of reflections on gender transitions and redefinitions. This interest was manifest in the representations of vestimentary and corporeal transformations which interrogated normative assumptions. The principal contributions of these reflections are traced in this article with a twofold goal. On the one hand, a theoretical framework is drawn for the filmic re-reading of the terminologies, narrative ploys and discursive models anchored in the cultural, autobiographical and activist tradition. On the other, attention is placed on the multivalent use of these representations by various political agendas focused on questions of gender and sexuality.
