Music in Special Education is a welcome addition to the library of music educators and music therapists. It's been more than fifteen years since Betty Atterbury's Mainstreaming Exceptional Learners in Music (Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice Hall, 1990) was published, and though it is out of print, many music teachers still use it as their primary reference for information on inclusion of children with disabilities in music classes and ensembles. Music in Special Education is a wonderful, more current resource full of helpful information.
