Abstract

[...]in our primary analysis, we compared patient groups defined by the two criteria sets. [...]165 (56.9%) patients met neither criteria set (negative concordant group). Discussion In a prospective cohort of consecutive patients from everyday clinical practice, with sicca symptoms or systemic involvement suggesting pSS, agreement between AECG and ACR/EULAR criteria was excellent (??=?0.92). [...]these two criteria sets would select similar patient populations for future trials and clinical studies. Among patients who received a physician diagnosis of pSS but did not meet classification criteria, only one had systemic involvement without sicca symptoms. [...]adding systemic involvement to the criteria, as proposed recently [35], would probably not significantly affect performance of the criteria set in clinical practice [36].
