Business continues to boom at Dulles International Airport. In the ongoing effort to develop the airport into a major international transportation center, Presidential Airways and Pan Am World Airways last week announced a three-year joint agreement to expand services to the international market.
At the same time, United Express, operated by Air Wisconsin, announced the formation of its Dules hub, to run in conjunction with United Airlines' new hub there.
Officiating at the announcements was Virginia Governor Gerald L. Baliles, who welcomed the new developments and said they contributed significantly to the projected growth of the airport which is expected to increase by 50 percent in 1986, over and above the 49 percent growth last year.
Presidential and Pan Am are hoping the partnership will boost feeder traffic between the two carriers at Dulles and Miami International airports. Scheduled to begin July 1, the agreement will facilitate passenger connections between Presidential's domestic markets and Pan Am's Dulles and Miami gateways serving Europe, Asia, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.
