Hollywood darling Julia Roberts scored her second-highest opening ever with Erin Brockovich, which took the top place at the box office for the weekend ending March 19. The only other Roberts' film opening to top Erin was Runaway Bride.
Erin, based on the true story of one woman's legal crusade against a big corporation, raked in $28.1 million in its debut weekend. Reviews have been overwhelmingly favorable, even stirring talk of an Oscar nod for Roberts in next year's Academy Award race.
