Abstract
RJ Race Cars has established itself as a dominating force in the NHRA Pro Stock ranks with its cars winning 10 of the 13 events contested on the 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series tour heading into Seattle, runner-upping at two, qualifying No. 1 at nine, and setting top speed at all 13. Jason Line's 2006 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock world championship was evidence of RJ Race Cars/Quarter-Max's relentless quest for building the best race cars and best parts at the lowest prices.
RJ Race Cars and Quarter-Max Chassis & Racing Components have been closely associated with success and performance on the racetrack since they were founded in 1987. The family-owned and -operated business in Galesburg, 111., has continued to evolve into one of the most highly regarded complete chassis fabrication shops and parts manufacturers in the drag racing industry.
Named Car Craft Chassis Builder of the Year in 1998 and 2002, RJ Race Cars showcases the innovative spirit and knowledge required to stay ahead of the competition in what is arguably drag racing's most competitive eliminator.
Rick Jones, owner and proprietor of both RJ Race Cars and Quarter-Max, works closely with his 25person staff to provide racers the highest quality race cars and provides hands-on tuning advice to several teams currently competing within the NHRA ranks. Between his responsibilities at the track and in the shop, Jones, a veteran driver himself, stepped out of the driver's seat to focus his attention on his customers in 2007.
"To be able to really give our customers the feedback and help that they need, I have to be on the starting line as often as possible," explained Jones. "In order to keep our race cars winning races and championships, it's imperative that I stay as hands-on with our customers as possible."
If their dedication to performance and absolute domination isn't apparent enough through the results of Greg Anderson, Allen Johnson, Jason Line, and a slew of other RJ Race Cars customers, then a trip to their 20,000-square-foot, state-ofthe-art facility in Galesburg makes it obvious. The well-versed staff at RJ Race Cars/Quarter-Max is the key ingredient to the successes seen on the racetrack.
"Our staff is simply incredible," said Jones. "We've got some of the most talented fabricators in the business working here, and that's what it takes to provide our customers with the best parts and race cars available."
That's obviously just what's happening at RJ Race Cars and Quarter-Max Chassis & Racing Components as their cars continue to dominate - even in the ubercompetitive Pro Stock class. Make no bones about it, domination is exactly what Rick Jones and his staff is shooting for and will continue to work hard to achieve.
Sportsman racers see and experience the Quarter-Max difference immediately since they are able to acquire the same components that are winning races in Pro Stock and in almost every other doorslammer category. Most companies that manufacture parts for the racing industry don't build the cars that the parts they build apply to, but that's not the case with Quarter-Max.
"Being able to test the parts we build on our own cars is simply invaluable in this business. There's not one part that goes out the door that we haven't proven on the racetrack, and that's the way we intend to keep it."
Quarter-Max Chassis & Racing Components designs, builds, and sells parts with nothing short of race-winning results in mind. Jason Line's 2006 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock world championship was evidence of RJ Race Cars/Quarter-Max's relentless quest for building the best race cars and best parts at the lowest prices.
