What's the best deal/project you've worked on thus far?
Being selected as the design-builder for the Dover Air Force Base mortuary facility by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Philadelphia district was exciting and one of the best projects that we have worked on so far. This $17 million facility represents a major project for a government client. When complete, the 72,000-square-foot, state-ofthe-art facility will be one-of-a-kind in the United States and quite possibly in the world, so you can understand why we are so excited. This facility's main purpose is for sad reasons, but it will serve an invaluable role for our country. The remains of all U.S. service men and women from throughout the world will be prepared there for return to the next of kin. The facility will be equipped to handle mass casualties. The project will be completed by June of this year.
What's the deal/project you wanted bad but got away?
The interior fit-out of Pepper Hamilton's Center City offices is one deal that we really wanted and that got away. We had just successfully completed the interior fit-out of Pepper Hamilton's law offices in Berwyn and were asked to participate in the selection process for their office in Center City. We were very excited just to be asked.
What project are you working on now?
Right now, Nason Construction has over 30 active projects. Some are being completed, others are under construction, and some were either just awarded or will be starting in the next month or two, such as the Concord High School project for Brandywine Se School District. The project is located in North Wilmington, and we teamed with the Philadelphia office of URS Corp. for this $28 million renovation project. The project consists of...
