Alvin H. Butz Inc. of Allentown, a major construction company based in the Lehigh Valley, has teamed up with R.M. Shoemaker Co., a construction management firm from West Conshohocken, in a joint venture on three projects in Center City.
The joint venture company will be called Shoemaker Construction and it marks the first big Center City expansion by the Allentown company.
The company has done and continues to do construction work for the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia off Germantown Avenue but with the new arrangement, it will be involved in largescale, visible downtown projects.
