John Buck Co., having won and then lost some big tenants at its 50-story skyscraper under construction on Wacker Drive, is about to land its biggest catch yet.
Buck has signed a letter of intent with Chicago asset manager Brinson Partners Inc. and its parent, Swiss banking giant UBS AG, to lease about 300,000 square feet at 1 N. Wacker Drive, a Brinson executive confirmed.
Brinson and UBS will move out of their separate quarters and consolidate in Buck's 1.2-million-squarefoot building, taking nine or 10 floors. Brinson now leases more than 140,000 square feet in the historic Rookery, 209 S. LaSalle St., and UBS has about 200,000 square feet at the Chicago Board of Trade Building, 141 W. Jackson Blvd.
