American Greetings Corp.'s Those Characters From Cleveland division is trying to recapture the sweet smell of success with its latest creation, Peppermint Rose.
TCFC, the licensing division of the Cleveland greeting card company, unveiled Peppermint Rose, a line of dolls made and jointly marketed by Mattel Inc., at last month's International Toy Fair in New York. Mattel plans to start shipping the dolls to retailers'shelves in midsummer. Peppermint Rose wears a traditional, country-style dress and carries a basket with artificial flowers. When mixed with water, the flowers' petals melt into perfume. The 24 petals have either a candy or a floral scent.
In addition to the Peppermint Rose line, TCFC has revived its Strawberry Shortcake character and it unveiled three other toy licenses at the Toy Fair. Two of those licenses are Mighty Fighters play dolls for boys and Playground Kids, another line of play dolls for girls.
