Cavs/Gund Arena Co. is turning to technology to entice corporate suiteholders to retire their three-ring binders as ticket distribution aids.
The company, which runs all events at Gund Arena, next month will introduce suiteholders to software designed to help them manage their event tickets more efficiently. Cavs/Gund Arena officials expect the software, UsherPro 2000, to formalize a ticket distribution process that anecdotes suggest can be cumbersome and haphazard.
"In a lot of cases, the administrator handling the tickets keeps them in a three ring binder or a folder, and they don't have a good way to track how the tickets are used or if they are used," said Dana L. TurkFurman, manager of suite services for Cavs/Gund Arena. "This will make their job much easier."
UsherPro 2000 comes in the form of an Internet-compatible CDROM that provides users with easily manipulated databases related to ticket use. It's produced by Marketing Database Systems L.L.C. of Wood Dale, Ill., which provides software to clients in the sports and entertainment industries, including the Staples Center in Los Angeles and SkyDome in Toronto.
