Cleveland's largest architectural firm, van Dijk Pace Westlake, is operating with a new name and a new managing principal following Dick Pace's surprising departure to launch a career as a real estate developer.
Mr. Pace, the firm's managing principal for a decade, said his interest in development doesn't jibe with the interests of his former partners, who want to focus on the architectural and engineering practice.
"It's my passion, not theirs," he said. Mr. Pace said he found he could not pursue real estate projects while serving as managing principal, something he could do earlier when he was a partner.
The van Dijk firm's new managing principal is Paul Westlake, a longtime design heavyweight, and the firm's new name is van Dijk Westlake Reed Leskosky, reflecting the addition to the shingle of longtime partners Ronald Reed and Vince Leskosky. The changes were effective Jan. 1.
