Abstract
The judge Toshio Nagai found him guilty of negligence in failing to order the recall of non-heat-treated blood products, which were used in the treatment of a patient in April, 1986, who later died of an AIDSrelated illness. [Akihito Matsumura] was cleared of a second charge relating to the death of a haemophiliac who received tainted blood products in the early summer of 1985.
