Abstract

[Ketan Desai] told The Lancet that "it was not a tax raid, but a routine survey. They found nothing incriminating, except some papers relating to real estate business of some members of my family and cash worth 50 000 rupees. This is not a big amount considering the fact that two members of the family are professionals". (Desai's wife is also a doctor). Desai also says that the investigations against him are politically motivated and that "I am caught in the internal politics of the two bodies [MCI and IMA]".
