Abstract

A mixture of BZP and TFMPP mimics the molecular mechanism of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamfetamine (MDMA, ecstasy).3,5-8 The phenylpiperazines are well-characterised serotonergic compounds, which is also the reason for the use of 1-(3-chlorophenyl)piperazine (mCPP) as a probe drug in psychiatric research.5-7 Commonly, piperazines are sold as party pills in the form of tablets, capsules, or powders on the black drug-market and in so-called headshops or over the internet.
