Mexico's state oil company Pemex has inaugurated two new cryogenic natural gas processing plants at a complex in the Burgos gas field. The plants will enable Pemex to increase gas production and sales of natural gas liquids, which currently sell for a higher price.
The new installations, which raise the total number of natural gas processing plants in the Burgos complex to six, will recover propane, butane, and natural gas liquids associated with the Burgos gas deposits.
Agustin Humann, president of the Mexican Natural Gas Association, noted that prices for some natural gas liquids are currently higher than prices for crude oil.
