The software allow you to do up to 100-layer composites with interactve fullmotion alpha keys In a single rendered pass.
Some products are better-named than others. Accom's new AFFINITY nonlinear editing/compositing system is a good example. This new-generation product, introduced September 10 at the fBC exposition, in Amsterdam, will attract instant admirers immediately thanks to its five simultaneous streams or uncompressea video. And its new frame-based, internal Abekas DVE comes standard, complete with an improved user interface (remember, Accom now owns Abekas, one of the leaders in digital effects technology).
AFFINITY also comes standard with FluidFrame (motion effects processing). A "must-have" option, meanwhile, is the DVEousFX (warps, texture, and lighting effects) software. When combined, these standard and optional effects give incredible power to the editor/effects compositor. Then there's the price tag-starting at $52,900-which will rock the online finishing/compositing/FX industry.
Dimension.8 Software
AFFINITY features Dimensions.8 nonlinear editing software. Its lineage is clearly evolved from its ImMIX/Scitex Digital Video VideoCube/StrataSphere forebears, although hot new featuressuch as Clip Locking, Clip Pinning, and Clip Grouping-make the system much easier to use for complex projects. The software allows you to do up to 100-layer composites with interactive fullmotion alpha keys in a single rendered pass. Dimension.8 software also features improved search-and-sort mode capabilities. The system offers customizable user-interface controls (including screen controls and keyboard assignments), and the ability to easily store and transport users set-ups from system to system.
Dimension.8 uses many of the design features of the Sphere line of edit systems. Many of the operations are the same or quite similar. For example, the PROJECT WINDOW and TRACK SHEET editing panes will be very familiar to a StrataSphere or VideoCube editor. This will provide those editors a short learning curve when they move up to an AFFINITY. The system also uses a StrataSphere-like jog/shuttle controller/mixer. The audio is still...
