Matt anchors NYC underground hard-rockers Shirley Temple Of Doom with a gut-wrenching mix of groan and growl. His powerful, punchy lines at the outset of "X-Ray Kung Fu Master" give way to a series of ascending lines that stretch to the breaking point before diving back into the initial gut-punch groove. All the while Matt positively roars through his G&L 2000; even his mellow arpeggio passages are thick 'n' throaty. (This is not music for meditating.)
More heavy unison riffing drives "Ultra Violent," but Matt never gets lost beneath those crushing guitars and drums. His grindy tone and cool syncopations command attention at all times. "I plan...
