Applied genomics and drug discovery company Cytochroma Inc. of Kingston, Ontario, has landed $7.6 million in private equity financing led by the Business Development Bank of Canada. Other investors in the round included Novo A/S of Denmark and VentureLink Capital Corp. of Toronto. Existing investors which also participated included GeneChem Technologies Venture Fund LP, Canadian Medical Discoveries Fund and Working Ventures Canadian Fund Inc. The fresh cash will be used for drug launches, to build its technology platform and to enhance its management team and scientific staff.
