MBNA has wasted little time in launching Amex-branded credit cards, following the US Supreme Court's refusal to even consider Visa and MasterCard's appeals (see FSD 107). In the first four weeks since the court's judgement, MBNA issued 300,000 of the new MBNA Affinity Rewards American Express cards and signed up 1,000 affinity organisations to promote the cards to members.
