Nick Leontitsis owns the Oasis Diner in White Plains. And for a long time he's been backing the promise made by the sign that hangs in the diner's window: "Best Food. Best Prices In Town."
But after 19 years of serving specials like steak, eggs, potatoes and toast for $4.95, Nick will bang up the spatula this spring and leave the sandwiches and hamburgers in someone else's hands.
The half-century-old Oasis will remain in business. Although Leontitsis said he is in the process of selling the diner, located at 16 West Post Road, because talks are still in progress he would not reveal the buyer's name or the sale price. "I'm not selling at a loss," he said. "I'm making a marginal profit."
