Just as the second wave of change in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that occurred 25 years ago largely replaced stimulus-response behavior analysis with a central focus on cognition, this third wave of change in CBT is replacing the exclusive focus on change to incorporate new therapeutic methods based on acceptance.
