WHAT'S HOT: The SyncMaster 152B has one of the thinnest bezels we've seen--it measures about 1 inch thick. The hinged base is unique, too: It lets you lift the panel up and extend it forward a few inches. It isn't as easy to adjust as the Compaq TFT 1520's, however. The hinge felt as though it needed lubrication to ease its movement. We liked the design decision to build the ports for connecting cables and power cords into the back of the panel's pedestal, rather than into the panel itself. Connecting cables to many LCD displays panels is cumbersome. The 152B delivered the sharpest and most evenly focused text of any panel we tested, on all of our test screens. Judges gave it high marks for uniform brightness on pure-white screens, too. And graphics looked impressive, with accurate colors on a Web page and a fruit tart photo test screen.
