Under the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"), all ATMs are subject to requirements intended to make them more accessible to disabled persons. Under current regulations, existing ATMs may have to be modified to be more accessible, and new ATMs have to comply with specific guidelines developed by the Access Board and approved by DOJ. The Access Board is comprised of individuals representing disabled groups and representatives of various federal government agencies.
