While doubts linger that production of the well - regarded Amiga computer will c ontinue in the face of the collapse of Commodore International Ltd., the future of Commodore - branded DOS PCs in Canada is secure for the time being.
Debt - beleaguered Commodore International, now in trusteeship, is based in the Bahamas. The company is asking the courts there to allow it to go into voluntary liquidat ion.
Its application is due to be heard later this month. A sister Bahamian com pany, Commodore Electronics Ltd., has already embarked on voluntary liquidation.
As the world of Commodore continues to shrink, Toronto - based Commodore Bu siness Machines Ltd.'s marketing manager Ray Pranchun said he has a good stock of Amiga s, although he is uncertain about continuing supplies...
