Major registered investment adviser platforms, including those of Charles Schwab & Co. and SEI Investments, are at work on technology campaigns which will provide RIAs with the ability to generate their own Web sites and access client information from non-proprietary client management systems on a daily basis. The platforms are making the move to build Web sites for advisers which bring the appearance and content of the advisers' sites up to their own level based in part on requests from RIAs and fear of losing adviser business to other providers who offer these services. Schwab insiders said that the company will be launching a beta-test version of an adviser Web site that is directly linked to Centerpiece, its proprietary client management software, by the fourth quarter.
