Structural geology, tectonics and geotectonics represent an continuum in the scale of studies on Earths deformations, beginning from microscopic through regional up to global scales. It is certainly a masterpiece to organize these topics in a consequent manner to make it possible for a reader to understand interdependence and interconnections between the small and large scales of studying deformation, taking place within the Earths crust. Twiss and Moores certainly succeeded previously in this matter in the rst edition. Nonetheless, in the new one the authors attempted to enhance the clarity of the presentation by a better organization of the material in the chapters. Reorganization affected substantial parts of the book, with an intention to assist instructors in their selection of the material according to their preference, experience and vision of the lectures.
