Abstract
The Ipex series of international shows, the world's largest English-language graphic arts exposition that is staged every 5 years in the UK, has always been a showcase for progress in electronic image manipulation. This year's show, which is taking place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, looks like it is becoming the arena for the final showdown between the big workstations and the desktop whipper-snappers, according to Simon Eccles, who is a freelance journalist and a digital-image consultant.
