The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore is one of the world's leading medical research and patient care institutions. It spans five city blocks, comprising twenty-seven buildings and thousands of rooms. Three new buildings have come on line in the past five years and two more are scheduled for completion by 2009.
