Neil Patterson, the man chiefly responsible for ABC-TV's spectacular Millennium celebration, died on March 27, from complications of a stroke he suffered on February 1. Patterson was a 22-year veteran of ABC News who served in numerous key positions, both domestically and abroad. His most recent title was senior vice president for operations and the executive-in-charge of the worldwide Millennium program.
