With some help from Marcie Barlow, a contributor to our newsletter, and PR expert Mickie Kennedy, of eReleases.com, we have put together some great ideas that will help everyone with their communication efforts, which are so important to a successful sponsorship effort.
1.Effective communication builds and maintains relationships: It's imperative that the driver and crew chief communicate effectively for a team's success on the track. The same is true for a team's success off the track. Too often, a team acquires a great marketing partner, then fails to keep them engaged and informed. Keeping a marketing partner informed can take place in many ways: phone calls, emails with weekend results and upcoming events, and social media platforms. Check with your marketing partners to see which method of communication they prefer, and also remember that more than one person at the business would probably like to receive this information. As the season progresses, follow up with each of your marketing partners to get their feedback on sales and additional business contacts that have resulted from their partnership with your team so that you can adjust your marketing strategy if needed.
